Hello friends,
Pongal is a harvest festival dedicated to the Sun God. It is a four-day festival which according to the Tamil calendar is usually celebrated from January 15 to January 18.[2] Thai Pongal corresponds to Makara Sankranthi, the harvest festival celebrated throughout India
The term ‘pongal’ in Tamil means “to boil”, and this festival is celebrated as a thanksgiving ceremony for the year’s harvest. Pongal, one of the important Hindu festivals, falls around the sametime as Lohri every year, which is around mid-January
This pongal day is celebrated to give respect and appreciate the farmer who sacrifice their days in their agriculture land while waiting for the harvest season.
Thank you to all the ffarmers all around the world….
Wishing you a happy Pongal dear ๐
